to Our Church!
Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting us online! We hope you
will take some time to get acquainted with us, and that you will come
visit us here at Hollis Presbyterian Church. If you do not have
a church home, we pray you will consider becoming a part of our family. You
will find that we are a fun, down-to-earth people who love Jesus and
one another! We know how challenging life can be, and that is
why we come together to worship God, support one another, and spread
the good news that Jesus Christ is alive!
God has impressed upon us the need to “Rejoice always, pray
without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).” We
make a conscious decision to choose joy over despair because we know
that “the JOY of the LORD is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10).” That
is why we sing with gusto, dance with joy, and worship Jesus with sincere
and glad hearts! We love Jesus because he first loved
us, and it is our desire to be in deeper fellowship with him and one
another, thus proving to be his disciples.
Our late pastor, the Rev. Dorothy Carrington-Benjamin, gave us our
motto: “The Church Where Love Grows.” We pray that
you will experience the love of Jesus Christ in our fellowship, and
that His peace and joy will bless you and your family. Welcome,
